 OTHER PIECES OF THE PUZZLE!

THE CATALYST IN ME

ABOUT THEM

I enjoy the beauty in learning about the human body and I started this blog as a reflection of my experiences.

There wasn’t a page out there that offered that kickstart and guidance that I needed for my scientific career.

So here I am, creating a page with the aim to educate and inspire, motivated by my love for science with a personal touch of Adama. x

SEEKING SCIENCE

BBSTEM

ABOUT THEM

BBSTEM is a non-profit organisation campaigning for balance and representation of Black individuals in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

We aim to encourage, enable, and energise individuals in business, industry, and education to widen participation and contribution of Black individuals in STEM. Our professional network of BBSTEM members aims to inspire the young Black British generation to pursue STEM subjects in university and beyond. Our principal mission is to have Black parity in the UK’s STEM workforce, from school to the highest level in industry.

STEMETTES

ABOUT THEM

Stemettes was set up to help combat the lack of women in STEM in a new way - see our very first blog post 'In the beginning...'
Co-founder Anne-Marie decided to start Stemettes after hearing this keynote whilst attending the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing in 2012.
It made her reflect on her fantastic experience being one of 3 girls in a class of 70 studying Maths and Computer Science at university.
After attending a 'Spotlight on STEM' workshop run by Business in the Community she learnt that there's a real problem in the UK and decided to take a new form of action centred on being free, being fun and having food.

So we're a tiny team doing what we can, to help. We can't have women leaders, if they're not joining the industry, or are ignorant of STEM itself. Diversity is important in any industry - and STEM especially. Diversity of thought leads to innovation.
